Underdog Boxing: Is some sort of 50-50 separate fair for Pacquiao and Mayweather?

Boxing-67333597688_xlarge

Quite a bunch of factors so why the aspiration combat between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather haven't taken place yet. The issues about where of course, if the battle will be held and know about medicine tests that will take place are just a few of the numerous reasons. But as of the moment, the most important roadblock to help producing the combats looks like it's in regards to the cash.

A few months ago, news writers from your Philippines cited Pacquiao when he said that he would prefer to take small purse. Then a few days back, Mayweather and Pacquiao discussed on the phone where Pacquiao said that he lacks the situations taking the fight as long as they divided up the purse down the center.

Following that conversation, the boxing world suddenly felt that there is a possible chance that the fight will likely be made. The two boxers talked and they did actually have allowed us create the fight. Nevertheless, that little shimmer of desire is useless ever again.

In an meeting with ESPN Mayweather said â??He (Pacquiao) enquired in regards to 50/50 divided up, and We told him no that will can't happen. But what might happen is you possibly can make extra money fighting me than you made in your career. â?

Mayweatherâ??s contention facilities on his pay-per-view selling capacities. In his last five fights Mayweather could sell 2. 4 million against Oscar de la Hoya, 920, 000 next to Ricky Hatton, 1. 05 with Juan Manuel Marquez, 1. 4 million towards Shane Mosley, together with 1. 25 million next to Victor Ortiz.

Pacquiao in contrast who has sold 1. 25 million against Miguel Cotto, 600, 000 against Clottey, 1. 15 million against Antonio Margarito, 1. 3 next to Mosley, and 1. forty-five million against Marquez.

Summing every thing up, Mayweather has sold a lot more than 7 million pay-per-views while Pacquiao sold less than 6 million, both within their last five fights.

If you take their last seven fights into mind which includes Pacquiaoâ??s fights against de la Hoya which sold 1. 25 million and against Hatton which sold 800, 000 together with Mayweatherâ??s fights against Carlos Baldomir and Zab Judah then their own buys are almost alike.

If you ask people, a 50-50 split is actually fair. Both fighters will only make this kind of money against each many other. But we canâ??t expect Mayweather to understand this. He thinks he is the savior of boxing. He thinks he has no peer, so in their own mind, no one deserves the same share of the cake with him.

The just solution here, at least in my view, is a 55-50 split. Give both fighters the expected amount to make Pacquiao happy then bump off Mayweatherâ??s split a tad further to satisfy their ego. This is a sane solution which will make everybody happy.

The problem though is that sane solutions are actually not the expertise with the people involved in creating this fight. Parties would rather take an all out publicity war rather than to sit down and try to hammer out a deal that can finally make this fight a fact.

Floyd Mayweather phone calls Pac-Man immediately after dialling him out - claims

Photo_1327011650224-1-0
Floyd Mayweather offers spoken to Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao by telephone to talk about a possible megafight up coming May, agents to each and every boxer confirmed to a number of media stores on Thursday.

Mayweather adviser Leonard Ellerbe confirmed the phone call to ESPN while Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum did the same to BoxingScene.com and Pacquiao themselves talked with ABS-CBN in the Philippines regarding the small discussion.

The Filipino record quoted Pacquiao as stating there would be no issue if Mayweather would certainly accept a 50-50 split of income from precisely what is expected to really do the richest fight in boxing history -- if it ever comes off.

Unbeaten US star Mayweather and Pacquiao, considered to be our planet's top pound-for-pound fighters, almost developed a deal to get a battle as soon as before but the American's insistence on unique anti-doping blood vessels tests helped get rid of the talks.

This time around, Mayweather carries a May 5 night out booked at a Las Vegas area while Pacquiao's promoter wishes a late May date you can save a huge outside arena so for tickets can be sold to increase earnings approximately $50 million.

"Floyd wishes to fight Manny Pacquiao on May 5 in which he moved as much as to achieve out to Manny Pacquiao professionally," Ellerbe said.

Ellerbe told ESPN that Mayweather called from Las Vegas to the Philippines after earlier this month phoning out southpaw Pacquiao on Twitter, taunting "Step Up, Punk" around the world welterweight champion.

Mayweather has been vocal with Pacquiao adviser Michael Koncz more than once in recent weeks, according to all studies.

Pacquiao, 54-3 with 2 drawn and 32 knockouts, provides won his previous 15 combats on the length of nearly seven years while Mayweather, 42-0 with 26 knockouts, need to serve a 90-day imprisonment sentence starting up June 1 after having a household violence conviction.

Arum said that the issue of who Pacquiao would likely next combat could well be resolved this coming week. Arum provided four various other probable foes for "Pac-Man" as next oppositions, which includes Puerto Rico's Miguel Cotto and Americans Lamont Peterson, Tim Bradley and Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez.

Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather Not Egotistical Enough for a Dream Bout?

Pacquiao_vs_mayweather
Lots of detailed phrases have been employed to update undefeated superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr. through the years. Egotistical, most definitely, is one of them. Similiarly, while no one flatly comes out and calls Manny Pacquiao egotistical, no need to explain that you have to have a very specific blown up sense of self worth and confidence to obtain the achievements that the Filipino champion has obtained through the years.

So, with that in mind - it had been incredibly unexpected which the face behind the one very best cooking device ever made for the people that can’t cook would suggest that the pair won’t get around to fighting simply because they lack the essential egotism.

Throughout a recent appointment with the very good people at Boxing Scene, George Foreman came out and explictely declared that he doesn’t believe a dream match among Mayweather and Pacquiao will ever turned out to be because both fighters do not have the required egotism.

“I doubt it,” Foreman told Boxing Scene when pressed around the prospect of a potential showdown. “Both fighters are earning all the money they want with out fighting one another. They’re not egotistical adequate to wish to fight one another. It could never occur.”

At this point, the prospect of Mayweather vs. Pacquiao failing to get enough developed is certainly not new. It’s not outlandish to suggest that a bout between two fighters which has gotten derailed each and every time it’s come close to taking place throughout the last two years won’t happen. There is nothing even mildly debatable about that stand.

What on earth is amusing, nevertheless, is the suggestion that the a couple of fighters involved aren’t egotistical enough to generate this fight happen. Mayweather and Pacquiao are 2 of essentially the most egotistical boxers in the sport today, and that’s the crucial reason why they’re sitting on top of the existing pound-for-pound rankings. The innate egotism that each one has is what has driven them to this point, even though they have long-since cemented by themselves as permanent fixtures in boxing lore.

There are tons of reasons why Mayweather vs. Pacquiao might not get come up with -- Bob Arum’s unbearable shadiness pops into your head -- but we’re planning to don't agree with Foreman here - the pair not being egotistical adequate is most definitely not one of them.

Pacquiao vs. Mayweather: The reason why Pac-Man Need to Fear Pretty Boy

Pacquiao_vs_mayweather_fight_pictures
You might even ask now that Pacquiao really afraid of Mayweather? This prediction cames out after Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 fight. Because Pacquiao did not even show his power for the boxing, we remember that most of the people believe that Marquez has a greater boxing performance against Pacquiao is the said fight. In this way Pacquiao vs Mayweather is very far to happen.

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather have tried discussions of meeting up for a combat for the ages, yet still simply no fight has been introduced. Yet in the interest of Pacquiao, not having a fight towards "Pretty Boy" Mayweather is the the most effective move.

Based on Black Sports Online, discussions between the two sides are taking place and he is prepared for a combat with Mayweather.

Pacquiao had the subsequent to state in terms of a future match up:

Discussions are continuous for my battle with Mayweather, but nothing is final. Mayweather might be considering, I'm able to fight Pacquiao now because he had problems against Marquez, and I surely could take down Marquez. This is exactly what boxing fans are looking forward to.

Inspite of the negotiations on terms, Pacquiao is simply not completely ready for a fight of this degree.

For one, Pacquiao will come off a fight to forget, as he was hardly capable to edge out Juan Manuel Marquez in the fight that he showed both tiredness plus an inability to dominate the battle. Granted, Marquez is a deserving, completed fighter, he's no Pacquiao and yet surely could receive the best of him in the ring.

Pacquiao's final 5 matches came right down to decisions, as he might be unable to receive the TKOs or KOs that he, once upon time, would make consistently.

Inside the Marquez fight there seemed to be a big fatigue issue with Pacquiao. He was out-boxed in the final rounds and put towards the test. There was plenty around the sport who believed Marquez in fact had the higher quality overall performance. Pacquiao was able to land just 30 % of his blows and 19 percent of his jabs, with Marquez landing 32 and 21 percent, correspondingly.

Due to the fact Pac-Man is coming off debatably one of his toughest fights of late, unquestionably a fight against Mayweather is requesting trouble, as the energy and potent degree of boxing is certainly not there for the Filipino-sensation.

The other important factor is the truth that Pac-Man's marketer, Bob Arum, continues to keep Pacquiao from fighting Mayweather. Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer advised ESPN.com the following: "We have already been informed that Bob Arum is just not fascinated by pursuing a fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao right now."

The fact Arum continues to avoid a potential megafight between the two well-respected boxers helps it be much more evident Pac-Man isn't and will not be ready for a showdown with Mayweather. While, in fact, you will discover sources supporting ongoing negotations at that time.

Make no fault over it, Pacquiao belongs to the stronger fighters to grace the sport lately.

However, dependant on his recent sommation and Arum's claims, Pac-Man isn't ready for Pretty Boy. The undefeated, 42-0 Mayweather has Pacquiao afraid of tarnishing his reputation as the better boxers in the sport.

Do you believe that Bob Arum Protecting Manny Pacquiao from Floyd Mayweather?

Pacquiao_vs_mayweather_3245
I want to ask you, Do you believe that Bob Arum Protecting Manny Pacquiao from Floyd Mayweather? We all know that Mayweather always hiding his ass specially when talking about fighting Pacquiao. He have many good reason on why and what to hide from Pacquiao fight. Does he afraid that Pacquiao take him down to the floor? Floyld is MONEY, and he always be MONEY. Floyld defend his name, he is undefeated and will not defeat from any boxing warrior through out the world. How far or how long does he defend himself from any attackers?

Here is what we can say with certainty: despite countless efforts by many different people, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are no closer to agreeing to a match today than they were two years ago.

Even though both stand to get the biggest paydays of their careers from this fight, even though their legacies may ultimately be defined by the fact that they never faced one another, for whatever reason, they just refuse to reasonably sit down at a table and hash out details that both parties can agree to.

That much we know for sure. What we don’t know, however, is why this is the case. Why are Pacquiao and Mayweather so unreasonable when it comes to this issue?

Mayweather, for his part, is a notorious against-the-grain contrarian. He constantly needs things to be done his way, on his terms – no ands, ifs, or buts about it.

He’s always been renowned for his stubbornness and inability to empathize with anyone, so his tone-deafness on how the public feels about him constantly repeating his tired, “take the test” mantra is understandable. He’s just that type of guy.

What has been more odd, though, is watching Pacquiao sink down to his level. Watching the No. 1 pound for pound fighter in the world who has traditionally been recognized as the people’s champ, refuse to be the bigger man.

If for no other reason than to appease his fans and legitimize himself as the best pound-for-pounder in the world today, you would think that Pacquiao would be able to get over his nonsensical beef with Mayweather, and proceed for the greater good.

Yet he hasn’t.

Which presents this question: does he even want to fight Mayweather? Or is he content letting folks think he’s willing to fight his undefeated rival all the while helping Top Rank boss, Bob Arum, collect massive paydays by pitting him against other Top Rank boxers?

During a recent interview with the good folks from 8CountNews, Jeff Mayweather alluded to this possibility. He explained that it was more profitable for Arum to consistently set Pacquiao up against other Top Rank guys -- like the completely overmatched Timothy Bradley -- because it maximizes the money rolling in all the while minimizing risk.

And, obviously, even though no single fight between Pacquiao and a nameless Top Rank participant can equate to the payday that a Pacquiao v. Mayweather battle would generate – when you start piling on one after another after another, you come awfully close.

This isn’t the first time that someone has suggested that Arum hides Pacquiao from challengers and only lets him go against people in his Top Rank stable. Sergio Martinez’s promoter Lou Dibella has often pointed out that Arum tends to avoid working with others when it comes to setting up fights against his golden goose.

He also said that the major reason why a Martinez vs. Pacquiao fight will never come to fruition is precisely because the former isn’t a part of the Top Rank family.

So, what does this mean? Well, it means that the Pacquiao v. Mayweather megafight is much more complex than most believe. It’s not simply a matter of Floyd wanting Manny to take the test, and the Filipino champ not obliging.

There’s a lot of financial strings being pulled by the powers that be who are attempting to ensure a big payday regardless of what happens.

In the end – all of the boxers and promoters will make a lot of money and walk away happy. The fans?

No such luck.

Mayweather decides to fight Pacquiao after watching Pacquiao Vs Marquez 3

Pacquiao_vs_mayweather_latest_pictures
For long long time ago that people wanted Pacquiao and Mayweather will have their deadly fight. When? and what will be the exact time for this? Ask me and ask other people. Also ask Mayweather, surely he will answer that Pacquiao need to have a test before fighting him. This will be issue before because they suspects that Pacquiao taking steroids. What are you in favor? Steroids? or Chicken? lol.

San Francisco’s Karim Mayfield threw me for a loop recently when he announced he would be moving down in weight and campaigning in the junior welterweight class for his future ring endeavors. Mayfield had been looking for riches in the welterweight class, with brief stints as a junior middleweight, and I was curious as to how the 30-year old was going to cope with shedding seven additional pounds five years into his career.

But as I talked to Mayfield on Monday night, a few things became clear. Karim revealed that he typically took fights above 150 pounds in the past either because of what certain promoters were offering or due to simply not having remained active enough prior to receiving certain offers.

Having previously fought at 140 pounds as an amateur in the Golden Gloves, Mayfield felt that a move back to the junior welterweight class was possible once he got down to as low as 145 pounds for his June 17th bout with former champion Steve Forbes, a fight that Mayfield would win via 10th round TKO. Mayfield would accept a challenge against Venezuelan-born Patrick Lopez and won the bout convincingly on the first of this month, dropping the New Hampshire resident three times on his way to a unanimous decision verdict.

“I would say the fight was a tough fight,” Mayfield said when asked about the contest. “He’s definitely a good caliber opponent. He’s definitely a step up from my other opponents I’ve been fighting. And just his intensity and his will, I mean, I knocked the guy down three times and he kept getting back up. I would give my performance, I still haven’t seen the fight but judging from what I feel, I would give myself a B-.”

The junior welterweight class is a bustling division full of talent around all corners and there are a few names that came out of Mayfield’s mouth when asked about the near future.

“Honestly, I would like to fight a Vernon Paris; he’s ranked high in the WBO. Or the winner of Danny Garcia-Kendall Holt,” Mayfield added.

Mayfield was then asked his opinion on the two men regarded as the division’s best in WBA and IBF champion Amir Khan and WBO champion Timothy Bradley. While it’s very likely that both men will be campaigning at 147 pounds come 2012, Mayfield took time to visualize on fights with both.

“I definitely know I can get in there and mix it up with them,” said Mayfield, who actually worked with Bradley prior to the Palm Springs, Calif. fighter’s August 2009 tussle with Nate Campbell. “I know my style and my will and the way that I fight. If I was offered a fight with those guys I would take it. I definitely need to tighten up some things in my next camp. You won’t see no B- performances from me anymore.”

Mayfield’s career got a serious boost of exposure earlier this year when he was brought in as a chief sparring partner for Manny Pacquiao as the Filipino prepared for his May 7th assignment with Shane Mosley. Mayfield was able to appreciate many sides of Manny both in and out of the ring and gave his prediction on the forthcoming trilogy match between Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12th.

“I see it being an exciting but Pacquiao has been on the top of his game the last few years and Marquez has been going through a lot of wars,” said Mayfield. “Pacquiao has had some great fights but they weren’t wars, he wasn’t getting punched back and forth. He actually showed a lot of defense in the last two fights. I think he’s more persevered now and I think he will come out victorious and stop Marquez by the 8th round.”

It just so happens that the first time I came across Mayfield, roughly a year ago in Las Vegas, he was working with outspoken trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. Mayweather’s son Floyd Jr. is coming off of 4th round knockout over Victor Ortiz last month but Mayfield is unsure whether or not he will have an interest in a long-discussed Pacquiao mega fight.

“I’m thinking that he will go for a Pacquiao fight if it’s a tough fight vs. Marquez. I can see him going after Pacquiao if it’s a tough fight. But if Pacquiao humiliates this guy, he aint going to want no part of him.”

Pacquiao will not Count on Mayweather Fight If Pac-Man Defeats Marquez

Pacquiao_vs_marquez_3_latest_pictures

If Pac-Man defeats Marquez then what's next? It is already mayweather? This is will the questions of all. When will be the dream fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather? why not revealing their real pride. Who is the chicken? lol. Anyway, time will come, it should come and that would be the end of the world. hehe. I am here always follow their updates and I am the one who will send you a news about their coming fight. If they...

Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather: It is the fight that boxing needs, but is not likely to see anytime soon.

Just two months after Mayweather made his triumphant return to the sport by defeating Victor Ortiz, Pacquiao will step into the ring against Juan Manuel Marquez for the third time on November 12.

Their first two bouts have been exciting, with the first one ending in a draw and the second going to Pacquiao via split decision.

There seems to be a strong feeling among fans that if Pacquiao defeats Marquez again that the much-hyped super fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather would be next on the agenda for both competitors.

Not to burst your bubble, but don't hold your breath waiting for that fight to happen.

We have been teased with this fight for so long that the idea of either guy agreeing to it at this stage of the game is beyond ridiculous.

Yes, the money that both guys would stand to make would be more than they have pulled in for a fight in their careers. But Mayweather just made a $25 million base salary for fighting Ortiz, which does not include sponsor money and his share of the pay-per-view revenue.

All told, he could walk away from that fight with nearly $60 million.

Pacquiao is no slouch in the financial department. He is going to earn at least $20 million for his fight with Marquez.

The purse for a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight would likely double, at least, the $20-25 million base salary that these two earn right now. But it is not like they are hurting for money at this juncture.

The other reason that the fight is not going to happen is because Mayweather is obviously afraid of fighting Pacquiao.

No disrespect to everyone that Mayweather has fought in his career, but those were all fights that he knew he could win and keep his undefeated record intact.

Pacquiao is the only fighter in the world that has a chance to defeat Mayweather, and that scares him to no end.

All Mayweather has in his life is that precious 42-0 record. If he loses that, then he becomes just another boxer.

There are a lot of reasons for both these men to accept this fight, if Pacquiao beats Marquez in November. But until they actually sign a contract to make it official, don't expect it to happen soon.

Mayweather vs Ortiz fight: Pacquiao not on radar

Mayweather_floyd640_381
Mayweather vs Ortiz fight was a great entertainer. Meanwhile he said that Manny Pacquiao is no longer on his radar

Floyd Mayweather Jr is over the moon right now. He has beaten a formidable foe in Victor Ortiz and made a fortune out of a fight that not many said would be memorable. To be true, only Mayweather camp made it look like a grand fight.

A fight can never be grand till there are two fighters of the same stature. And I wonder if any boxing fan can call Victor Ortiz even remotely comparable to Mayweather. They will say that he was out of ring for the last 16 months and Ortiz had been in the thick of action all this while.

But Mayweather is one of the most gifted boxers of our time. Even those boxing fans who dislike him badly will accept that. Despite hating him, they want to watch all his outings in the rings as it is the real entertainment.

Ortiz too can go out of the ring consoling himself of the fact that the decision was controversial and when he was pronounced beaten and defeated, he was actually throwing some good punches at Mayweather.

To be true, Mayweather is a good plotter of a psychological warfare. He had beaten Ortiz long before he entered the ring. He took potshots at him during their outings before the fight and brought his mother, his father, brother and trainer into the picture by talking about them and making Ortiz look like irresponsible and uncaring.

But not many are sure that this fight will give a boost to his rating as a boxer in the days to come. His punches in the fourth round may be legit, but not expected from a top boxer.

Meanwhile if you are thinking that this fight – almost a one sided affair- will prompt Mayweather to challenge Manny Pacquiao and be a true pound for pound king, you are mistaken. He has dashed all such hopes by bragging about his past and accusing Manny of everything that he is not.

The way he talked about Manny Pacquiao, it was clear that he was not willing to bet his prestige by facing him. Though what he said was juxtopposed. He didn’t challenge mManny but said, “I’m telling you, he doesn’t want to fight”.

He further thundered, “We’ve been talking about this for the longest…This boy don’t really want to fight. All this boy is doing is fighting my leftovers

He went on to parrot the same old line, he has been repeating for years, “I don’t need him. Where was Pacquiao in 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 when I was dominating the game? He never asked me (for a fight) when I was in my twenties or when I was in my teens.”

““Floyd Mayweather, from the beginning of his career in the ’90s, we knew he was going to be a great professional. Now ask yourself, a fighter just don’t get to 25 years old and all of a sudden he becomes great”, he heaped praise on himself. A truly great fighter is praised and doesn’t need himself to make a point about his own abilities.

It is about time that he decides to face Manny and let the hands do the talking instead of the big mouth.

What Boxing Needs to Become Big Again – More Than Just Pacquiao vs Mayweather

Pacquiao-vs-mayweather

Big fights. We know that. Pacquiao vs Mayweather, if and when it happens, might be the biggest purse ever in a boxing match. Big fights and big names bring boxing to the mainstream crowd. True, the mainstream crowd won’t get it on Network channels, it’ll have to be HBO, but the money’s there. The PPV isn’t the problem.

But big fights like this potential welterweight clash between the most popular boxer in the world, despite, or maybe because he’s not American and the undefeated Mayweather are short term fixes (a dangerous word when it involves boxing). There aren’t that many opportunities like and names out there to keep a consistent interest in the sport.

Pacquiaomayweather_crop_pacquiao_vs_mayweather650x440

Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather would quite possibly be the most anticipated fight of any kind EVER. Hollywood could not have drawn up a better fight than this.
